Devcon plastic steel epoxy?

If/when using aluminum pillars between the bottom metal and the action, 'compression strength' doesn't mean much.
I just finished bedding a Herter's J9 Mauser type barreled action into a Boyd's wood stock and used my normal stuff:

Look for it on Amazon, Devcon 230-10110. I just ordered another batch.

I have used Devcon aluminum putty, steel putty, steel liquid, titanium putty, Marine tex, pro bed, maybe others. The epoxy, in my opinion, is far less important than the process. The process is what produces a stress free, snug fit, not the type of epoxy. It all shrinks, does it matter if one shrinks a little more? Its either touching or not. In my opinion, controlling the fit by using an even thickness is more important than the epoxy used.
