Denver Instruments or Acculab Scale

Hello all,

Im new here and looking to better expand my knowledge and experience in reloading. Ive been reloading for 4 years with good success so far. Most of the time my reloads have single digit SD, but every now and then it doesnt work out that way.

Ok enough of that. Im looking for members who have knowledge and experience with the Denver Instruments MXX 123, and the Acculabs VIC- 612. Looking to upgrade from my RCBS 1500 Chargemaster. Chargemaster works great but very inconsistant. Ive read about the reliabilty with the DI here but also looking for those that can give any input or experience with the Acculab as well.

Thanks, any help is appreciated.

Acculab is out of business (sold name ) and the vicon series is discontinued......look up mu post on the acculab vicon 303. I would (if I could afford to) go with the DI.

Since Acculab is out of business you might look at My Weigh scales:

http://www.myweigh.com/

They have an extensive line up and have a 30 YEAR MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY. Yes that's not a typo, 30 YEARS.

I just bought a VIC-123 from Itin scale in early January. Their website says they are still in stock. Sartorius will still cover the warranty and service them.

DaveBerg - For the Stability Range, how many digits do you have yours set for?

The waveform coming out of a UPS is not exactly clean. Some of them output square waves. I'm surprised they would help.

Just the kind of info I was looking for. Much appreciated. I will look into it further. I did have the chance to speak with a knowledgeable and very experienced individual this evening, who informed me of his experience and many others who have had great success will both.

Thanks

The lead gal from the acculab warrenty repair number in the back of the manual told me they are not working on them...if somthing goes wrong with it then they will replace it with a new model the AY series..problem is they are on LONG backorder and you will be with out a scale for an undetermined amount of time....thats exactly where I am now.

So BUYER beware!

Dont get me wrong...I was VERY happy with my Acculab Vic 303, .001 readability and was spot on! I really liked the scale...just didnt like that it pooped out after a short use period and now Im stuck without one for who knows how long...hard to get ready for HP/LR season without an ACCURATE scale...at least it is for me.
So that is the ONLY reason I recommended going with a appropriate model from DI.

I would like to get a step up from the strain gauge technology but it gets real pricey real fast.
