The gun was made in 22 lr called the 1922 Springfield. Bolts are available from gunparts , barrel is sleeved wit the sleeve extended to the bolt face . Itll be a single shot unless you adapt a stevens or older marlin 22 mag . Ive converted 8 or 9 at this point . I started making barrels using premium blanks , they can be fun and extremely accurate. The bolt is headspace adjustable ( m2 late ) if you want you can make a A4 sniper replica in 22 lr . Fun easy ( your choice on how easy ) and cheap to shoot .Ok I'll bite. How do you convert the barrel. Use a sleeve and glue it in? But then how do you convert the bolt from centerfire to rimfire?

I started converting early low num Springfields when I was in my 20s as an apprentice. Even then I couldnt afford a real one , eventually I bought a few . Prices have been steady recently on original 1922s depending on model and conditions. I guess the people that admire a full size 22 is declining.
Pm if serious .
