Delays in Bolt Delivery from Pacific Tool and Gauge

I’m posting this in hopes of getting comments from others on their experiences in ordering bolts and other parts that are not in stock from Pacific Tool and Gauge. What follows are: 1) My Experience; and 2) My Question.

My Experience:
January 25,2022:
I ordered a replacement bolt for my Stiller TAC-30 action from Pacific Tool and Gauge. I had initially contacted Stiller, but they told me that they would have to order it from PTG and wanted to charge me $100 more than ordering the bolt directly from PTG.
PTG was very helpful when I placed the order. I talked to one of their senior to mid-level personnel who advised me which bolt I needed to order. I placed and was charged for the order expecting an 8 to 12 week wait as outlined on their web site.
August 24, 2022 (30 weeks after order): Since I received no response from PTG to an online order query in July, I called PTG to ask about my bolt order. The customer service woman I talked with was very helpful. She apologized for the delay and told me that my bolt would ship on September 30, 2022.
November 21, 2022: I called PTG about the bolt they told me they would ship on September 30. I was told that the person who would know about the order was on the floor and that they would look into my order and get back to me. There was no response in a week.
November 29, 2022: I called PTG about the order. I was told very helpfully by Jennifer that the person knowledgeable about the order had just gone out on the floor and that she would get right back to me by telephone. I waited two days with no call from PTG.
December 1, 2022: I called PTG. Jennifer was out for the day, and I talked with Mary about whether there was any information that Jennifer had obtained about my order. Mary talked with a sales manager and relayed the information that orders were delayed because of a shift in production lines to meet the needs of the War in Ukraine. They hoped to be able to give me information on a ship date for my order in two weeks and that they hoped to catch up on their overdue orders by the first of the year.

I realize that PTG has an excellent single-source product that I want and need and that I will have to wait for it patiently. Although PTG customer service people have been polite, the accuracy of their information and their responsiveness to order questions appears to be deficient.

My Question:
What has been the experience of other forum members in ordering and receiving bolts and other custom items such as reamers from PTG in recent months?

Thanks for reading this and for any helpful information and perspective that Forum members can provide.

December 15, 2022: I called PTG after the recommended two week period and talked with Winnie. I asked about my order. She said she would check and call back. She did! She asked about the details on the bolt I had been advised to order by PTG as a Stiller TAC30 replacement on January 25. After I provided further information, Winnie checked again and called back to inform me that the bolt that I had ordered would ship December 16. I received a tracking number for the shipment by email on December 16. I received the bolt on December 21, 2022. Unfortunately, the bolt I received was a Stiller Single Shot Cone bolt which does not fit my TAC-30 barrelled action.

PT&G is the best company around. I hate these threads as it makes the wait longer at my guys. Some people never learn.

Unfortunately, this sounds typical of them at this time. I'm not sure why or what needs to change but it's sad to see a HUGE resource..in so many ways, be in this position, for whatever reason.
Frankly, I challenge anyone to name a single person who has done more for our industry. I really don't know who it would be, but here we are.

What in the world could PGT be making for the war in the Ukraine?
I don't know specifically but I do know his business is massive and we are a teeny, tiny fraction of his business. Yes, he is definitely a military contractor, though, and has been for a long time. He was looking to expand eastward a few years ago. Not sure what ever happed there but it sounded like a step in the right direction at the time.

There are so many PTG odds and ends I would like to have, but just wont order from them. If it's not in stock at Midway or Brownells I wont order it.

I've heard if you want to get something special order you really have to stay on them and force them to go make it for you. A real bummer like Mike said... No one has the products they do.

I’m a bit lost on your wording. “..makes the wait longer at my guys.”
Are you an employee at PT&G?
I’m just lost.

Welcome to the "come along" club! PTG will try their best to drive you crazy before they cancel your order and then delay your refund. That is their modus operandi.

Thank you to all for the comments. I feel better knowing that my experience with PTG is not outside the norm (Ukraine War or no Ukraine War). I'll just keep calling them every few months until they either provide the bolt I paid for or I get too old to shoot.

PTG has to be one of the worst companies out there. I ordered a 7x300 win mag reamer and a set of dies. It took six months for the reamer and when the dies arrived they weren't anywhere close to being correct. This ordeal is going on for 9 months now and I want my money back. Not the company you want to deal with. I called Redding and had a set of dies in 5 days. Never pay 100% upfront with these guys.
