I really like the Defiance XL bolt knobs, specifically the knurling on the XL Tactical. The problem is they're hollow, and as a result - too light. It changes the feel of cycling the bolt. The hollow one weighs 32 grams and the regular XL knob is 82 grams.

I opted to fill mine with lead and then cap it off with some JB. I used JB so I wasn't always touching lead.

(Yes, I have two of them ... I'm testing out the process on the 1st one). This is the JB capped one next to the regular one.

I'll hit it with some paint when it's all dry. It's not as fancy nor as elegant as some of you would probably do, but it'll do just fine for me, and it saved me some money. I was just hoping to give some others an idea if they were in the same situation. The modified one weighs 94 grams.
