Defiance Deviant vs Deviant Elite?

Just finished building a 6 Dasher on a Deviant medium action. I have been looking at the Deviant Elite action. Having the longer Barrel thread on the action might help with the heavy bbl, and the extra bedding area could be of benefit. Just looking for anyone that has one and if they like it or find it unnecessary on the extra length. Thanks for any insight...rsbhunter

The shoulder supports the barrel not the tenon. The tenon just pulls the shoulder tight to the action face. Thats an advertising thing thats been around a long time. Added bedding area is another thing Im not concerned about. If you were doubling it, ok maybe that would help but adding and inch or so just doesnt do anything in my opinion. Does a Bat MB out shoot a B? Nope. But neither of those things hurt either. Defiance makes a great action so you cant make a bad choice.

Alex, thank you for the info....NOT being an engineer or gunsmith, it is easy to be "sold" on new features that may, or may not influence the accuracy potential of a rifle. I'm also appreciative of your opinion of the Defiance action....I always question my decision to buy either product A, B, or C. I know all of the top custom actions are leaps and bounds above factory actions, but some custom actions are held in higher esteem than others.....so alot are bought on the premise that more $$$$ = more better. Again, thanks for replying, and I am happy with the Deviant, single shot, RBLP action.rsbhunter

I would rather have the shorter thread because I've always considered the threaded portion to be the weakest part of the chamber.

First Two are both for Elites and ridiculously long and unnecessary…… the last one is for a BAT chambered in 338LM and does the same job!
