Hi All,
I'm going to switch barrels that are being headspaced and chambered to the same Defiance Deviant Action. I know defiance makes their own action wrench; however, I read on this forum and others, that the rearward inserting action wrenches can really mess up the bolt lug recesses in the action upon barrel removal.
My 1st question is if anyone uses an action wrench that wraps around the action where the recoil lug is, on a Defiance Deviant which has an INTEGRAL lug and picatinny rail. I looked at Wheeler's, brownell's proprietary wrench, no one makes one with inserts to accommodate an integral rail which can't be removed.
My next question, is I read about others inquiring about using any remington 700 action wrench that is rearward inserting (such as PTG's, Davidson's etc.), for the defiance or surgeon actions which have integral rails and lugs. Anyone have experience doing this?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
