Deer Feeder

anyone using one of these?
would like to hear some positive feedback on the cell communication reliability.
have a Tacticam with cell service and it is great so would really like to try a feeder too IF it does as they say.

Haven't used one but from what experience I have in the past with multiple different deer feeders, the main thing I would worry about is the Racoons tearing it up. If you can keep them from getting into any of the main parts it should work great.

@C.E.Smith043 and @Klong I have shared those same experiences with you. Even worse problem for me is the squirrels. They have chewed the top trying to get inside the feeder.
@rjtfroggy it is legal in AL under certain conditions during hunting season but this feeder is in my backyard and not hunted over. I have taken a coyote or two back there but the deer come and go in peace.
The single biggest reason I am interested in this remote operation feeder is to keep track of how much feed is in there and to make sure all the deer get fed. The later reason due to the shear large numbers of "attendees".

The one that works for me is the "No Hassle" from Academy Sports. It is 12V, all steel, rugged and pretty tamper proof from squirrels and raccoons. Anchor it down real well and I don't think hogs will be a problem either. Hogs tore up 3 of the tri-pod feeders before I bought the No-Hassle 4 years ago, no problems since.

There is zero hogs here. Cameras and feeder up since 2018. The single worst enemy of my feeders has been the gray squirrel. They love to chew on the plastic lid trying to get to the goodie inside the bin.
Second most offender is raccoons. Not destructive but, until I bought a feeder with that shocks anything reaching for the slinger, they just climbed a leg and "ate at the buffet".

On mine outside our bedroom window I have a critter cage on mine and a solar charger.

I had a critter cage on the last feeder. It was a PITA for me to do anything at the controller and the d#@n raccoons easily defeated it.
I've seen a fair amount to whitetails in TX. Usually they have lots of horns and smaller bodies.
These that hang in my back yard are some hearty eaters.
EDIT:
not throwing shade on a TX deer so please don't flame!

On the whole, Texas deer are smaller in body than the ones north. We have some with decent racks.

I have what looks to be the exact timer/feeder. Terrible unit. Clogged all the time until we trimmed the upper plastic mouth then the motor got a sticky spot on the shaft and wouldn’t spin. PB blasted the heck out of it and got it working again. Only read the reviews on Amazon after I had purchased it a year ago on clearance. I won’t be using it next year.

I’m in Texas. We have 3 types of corn feeders on the place. The last one I bought is terrific and by far the best. It’s a Lamco Low and Throw. Squirrels and coons can’t defeat this one, and hogs haven’t disturbed it. You can fill from the ground, if you can handle 50# bags. It broadcasts the corn, throwing it pretty hard. Don’t push the Test button if you are next to it in shorts. It hurts.

Similar design to the "No Hassle" from Academy Sports but almost twice the price. I think mine is even more varmint proof.
