Deep seating 70gr Nosler in 8" twist bbl

Fire forming new Lupua brass in my 6/284 today . Concerned about bbl life. So I figured if I loaded lightest charge and lightest bullets I had for minimal chamber pressure I'd minimalism bbl wear ? . Off the Hodgen website they listed 48grs of IMR 4006 behind a 70gr bullet . Low pressure with 3425 FPS . I seated bullets deep, just wanted to fire form this brass. I new I have throat erosion and figured I'd get crummy accuracy because of the jump these tinny bullets would have and maybe cause they're being over stabilized. Not so I was getting under a 1/4MOA at 125 yards and also with 80 gr FB Berger Varmint bullets . So maybe throat erosion isn't so accuracy destructive after all ?

Well that could be said to be true if the lands in the throat wore down evenly over time. Unfortunately it does not. The unpredictable wear patterns and fire cracking is what degrades accuracy. Your throat is in brand new condition. A bullet can give perfectly good accuracy with a long jump so long as the lands are in good condition.
