Deep Creek shooter has left the range, Bill Brown

Blaster-37

1000 Yard
It is with great regret that I inform you that our good friend Bill Brown has died.
He was our President for many years and one of the foundation 1000 yard shooters at Deep Creek in Missoula, MT. Anybody that has shot 1000 yards there has surely met Bill, the guy with the big smile and his hand out. There has never been a nicer guy. He never hesitated to do anything for anyone that needed help. He always had a smile, a helping hand and a kind word for every shooter. I can not say enough good about this great shooter and friend. He will be missed.
The funeral will be Friday, September 22nd, 11:00 at the VA center on 9th in Missoula, (behind Big Sky High School). There his ashes will be placed in the VA wall. Everyone is welcome.

It is always sad and difficult when some one of great stature passes. There is the feeling of "who can fill this man's shoes"? I do not shoot Benchrest but there is NO SPORT where one is "better" than another. F-Class, Benchrest, Palma, Service rifle etc...etc... all have their place in the shooting sports. If we are to keep these venues operating and even expanding, someone has to step forward. Generally speaking, someone does. That is when we need to bend over backward to support the very person who did step forward. I never knew this fellow, nor even heard his name, BUT he does sit tall in my saddle for spending his time furthering his passion! After all, that is the best any of us can do is to give of our selves and our time!

Sorry to hear of Bill Brown's passing. Bill was a shooter, full time backer of the shooting sports, a Montanan, and a veteran. He stepped up when his number was called for all endeavors. He will be missed by and for more than you think.
