Wake up those reloading rooms guys as our 2024 season opener is two weeks out . March 23rd and 24th going to be a good time good good shooting and some fellowship… weather is looking excellent in the extended forecast. If you anticipate shooting Text me Shawn Williams at 406-439-5045 and we can anticipate lunch etc. based on head count.

An absolutely beautiful place to shoot if you have never made it out. I wish it was a little closer than 33 hours. Good luck everyone. Shoot some really tiny ones this season!

Dave.

When weighing primers, does any one group shoot better than the others?
Does the odd weight primer throw a shot out of the group, if so how far ? Are you just eliminating all the variables you can?
Is there a velocity difference between light and heavy primers?

Thanks for the reply.

Point of impact or quadrant location will shift yes …

Primers of equal weight will trend together meaning heavier tends to trend with affinity to there equal weight brothers and light to light… etc. biggest gain is to
Isolate a random big heavy or light , keep that out of your record string.. testing doesn’t always suggest one weight will out shoot the other as much as a shift in target point of impact… these tests or ladders are hard to test at short range and even harder to decipher. Even 600 yards can be tricky but separation at 1000 makes reading data or tendency simple really.

600 yd primer crush test, same load that won a fair amount of matches in 22

It's very testable at 600 if your load and gear are dialed in.

Very interesting. The search never ends. :)
What type of priming tool are you using? How far was that shot at ?

That's a test at 600 yards

Primal Rights CZS with F Class base and indicator.
That's going to touch and applying the measured crush not setting the stop on the machine.
