DEEP CREEK 1000 YARD CHAMPIONSHIP

The 19th annual Northwest 1000 Yard Benchrest Championship Shoot will be held August 12-13, 2017 at the Deep Creek Range near Missoula MT. As always there will be a nice prize table, good food and hopefully good weather! Range open all day Friday August 11 for practice. Please be signed up Friday by 7:00 p.m. so we can pick bench and relay assignments. Safety meeting is at 7:30 a.m. Saturday morning and match 1 starts at 8:00. There will be lunch and dinner on Saturday. All shooters get a club t-shirt with the big NIGHTFORCE logo on the back for signing up, so come on over for your free Shirt and some good Montana hospitality in the Big Sky Country. shoot offs for day money yes, & points system for prize table. how the points system work is as follows he or she who shoots smallest group on a given relay gets 1 point 2nd smallest group in a given relay gets 2 points and so on. after two days he or she with the lowest total points wins and all other positions are developed in same manner. this eliminates the good relay bad relay syndrome, you compete against all others on same relay when acquiring points, this eliminates luck of the draw favoritism to a given relay.

"The Deep Creek Challenge" this year starting with our August 11th 12th & 13th championship Match through 2018 agg season and 2017 Championship match we will be having a "deep Creek Challenge". the "PRIZE" to the winning participant or competitor is going to be a Custom Varmint Rifle chambered in 6mm BR and fully fitted with Rings & Optics valued at over $5000.00 US This rifle is brand new never fired & only one of three made in this configuration. I'm pleased to announce That this rifle donation was and is a personal rifle from Dave Kiff of Pacific tool & Gauge personal collection. Stay tuned as I will have a detailed criterion & pictures in a day or of how to earn tickets through shooting from August 2017 through March through Aug 2018 drawing for this Custom rifle. the criterion to acquire tickets will be such that not only the seasoned competitor can achieve but the absolute newcomer to the club with the stock none custom rig has a chance at earning tickets for the drawing, all you have to do is leave your couch a few time over the next 12 months to earn your tickets. I will list rifle parts list when I start a "The Deep Creek Challenge" thread on Accurate shooter in a couple days. Spread the word to all your shooting buddy's

Your score place is also added with group place to get your relay point total. If you win both group and score in your relay you will have 2 relay points.

I wish I could make it up and learn a couple things from you guys. Wife, kids and me went on 22 day trip out West 4yrs. ago. 4,750mi. I stayed in Broadus for 3 days taking trapping instructions from old government trapper, then drove to Billings and went down through beartooth pass. Montana was the most beautiful state out west if you ask me.
I'll put deep creek on my bucket list, maybe one day!!

Short visit to deep creek this morning, left Helena @ 2:00 am so I could make it there for a daylight Ladder test on two different platforms before the sun climbed the ridge to burn my eyes. made it back home by 10:30am so I could get to work. Had the place all to myself to, Range still looks good and even a little green still. East of Missoula toward Helena really smoky but on the west side of Missoula and at deep creek shooting range the smoke is not near as bad actual very decent air quality in comparison.

Lonnie I'm trying to give my Dasher a reason to" improve" so I threatened to bump here from the job if here little brother out performs here. Lol... my dasher welcomed the challenge but little brother the 6BRA doesnt want to be left behind, time will tell tryouts have commenced... 2 weeks till 2018 championship i cant wait...

Tom, David needs all the help he can get!!! if I could manage my two Left hands I would post some ladders with the same vertical issues as you & David Lol!! Does Larry do private Lessons?
