DEEP CREEK 1000 YARD CHAMPIONSHIP

And those are Aggregate Ranked matches your writing of, aren't they?
Montana's is Relay Ranked.... a whole different "ball game".

At Relay Ranked, there is not much room for error, with no favored or excuses to conditions and draws. You have to perform every time your up, and will be rewarded (by rank) for doing so, and equally in the worse condition relays.

Myself I wouldn't mind seeing 3 targets per class over 3-days, but I like the format as is, and strongly feel the Relay Rank scoring format is the fairest scoring format for running big matches.

Hey Donovan, I respect your opinion and thank you for all the shooting info you have put forth. An old Skeet shooting buddy of mine
use to say, "you are entitled to your opinion even if you are wrong."
I shot at Deep Creek three-four times a year for seven years, won some good stuff in the drawings,
Shot four targets on Saturday (light-heavy & eleven pound for both Sat. & Sun.)
Then light & heavy on Sun. Had a great time shooting there, bunch of good
people.
So, shoot well, win some of your money back and drive safe.

Thanks....

Regardless of the format and the price of admissions, they do an awesome job of running the event, and go out of there way to assure things go smooth, and cook us up some great food !.!.!
Add that all in with being around some of the best 1000yd shooters this country has to offer, at a beautiful facility in a Rocky Mountain setting. Like the old "Old Milwaukee" commercials: "it don't get no better then this".

Yes, we charge $10 more per target for this match. Everyone who signs up gets a free t-shirt. Club logo on the front with a big NIGHTFORCE emblem on the back, so that's a $20 value right there. Our club fee is $35 for the season. A lot of our prizes are donated by sponsors, but some of them are offered to us at a discounted price, so I have to send them a check. Will be spending close to $7,000 of club money for this match for a prize table that will be over $25,000, so I think its worth the entry fee. Gary, if you just hit the center shot pot you will get your money back!! For the people who have been paying their dues, (taxes) all season this is our way of giving them a REFUND!
And WAYNE, now that we know your still alive, you better show up. You got time to get a gun ready. Or bring your knife and you can carve on the pig!

Lonnie
Thanks Lonnie ,
I am probably more accurate with a knife than a rifle for sure ;) sure hope to cya there I will let you know in time.

Think you folks could explain the format a touch better? Relay wins and you move on (elimination) or relay wins over aggs?

Ray

It was put in place in case you draw one of these type of relays. In an aggregate, you might just as well go home. In this system, you might just open up your lead;)

Tom
That is exactly why I like the Relay Rank format better then Aggregate format.
Thanks for putting that up Tom !.!.!
The best shooting, no matter what conditions your faced with, is rewarded equally to all other relays.

Like I've stated before, IMO it is the fieriest way to hold a big match in LR Benchrest.

Lonnie, Tom, and gang,
I had to hay the last two weekends and have a full work load at work this week, I see no way I can load for three guns in time for the match but might be able to get Sat off,...if you want help in the pits I will drive over to help for a day. I wish you all the best. It would be worth the drive to meet Donovan.
Wayne.
