Dedicated 22LR upper for service rifle practice?

Who makes a 22LR upper that's accurate enough for shooting 50yd service rifle practice. If the upper won't hold at least an MOA its kind of a pointless pursuit because you can't tell if it's you or the rifle.

Derrick Martin at Accuracy Speaks in Mesa Arizona makes a beautiful dedicated SR upper. I've had mine for 10 years, accurate and reliable. Hard to go wrong if Derrick is doing any gunsmithing work for you.

I ordered a SR upper from Compass Lake last evening. I did a bit of research online on this and other forums. CLE came out on top because of the quality of the products and the time Frank spent with me at Camp Perry answering questions and helping me with my 223 upper.

I have a Compass Lake 22RF upper that matches my AR match rifle. It easily holds 1 moa.

I have used a housebrand barrel from Brownells, a 16 inch CMMG barrel, and a 20 inch CMMG barrel with good success.

you need to do better research before you start rumors like this. He was hurt a couple of years ago but not killed. He hired an extra gunsmith a couple of years ago, who bought part of his business, and he passed away last year.

Yeah, it's good to know that it wasn't Derrick's ghost that built me another .22 upper last winter. Good to know it wasn't his ghost I was talking with at his place at Rio Salado Gun Club.

I apologize. The info given me I took to be true. He has done excellent work for me in the past. Even loaned an M1A with ammo to shoot a match at Rio Salado. Always treated me right. Again; I apologize.

Derrick built mine, too. He has also subsequently built 2 14's for me. Derrick is top, top shelf, and always has been.
