Decided to go with a Long Shot Precision adjustable ABR

I just switched out my original McMillan TAC.50 A-1 stock for a Cadex Dual strike chassis.
Great chassis, but now using my old style bunny ear Protektor bag is no longer possible.
Gun sets up way too high.

Decisions, what to do. I've looked at squeeze bags....not totally sold.
I'm an old b.r. guy and I like solid rifle set ups.
Started to do more research for rear bags, so now decided I'm going with an ABR .

A little late to the party, but better late than never.

After spending literally hr's late last night into the wee hours I found the product I'm going with.

Long Shot Precision adjustable ABR.

Sent out a late night email to Long Shot Precision. Half the time you send out online product inquires, you either hear back in a month or not at all.
To my surprise Dave Pobutkiewicz, owner of Long Shot, returns my email 8 hr's later with very detailed videos .

He told me to call him if I had any questions, and so I did.
What a super guy!

We talked about an hour and he explained his product, it's set up and use.
Never used a bag rider, but I'm all in now.

I ordered a universal model. They sell models for all different brands of rifles, and custom installations too.
As soon as I get it I'll post a review.

The unit is a real precision piece of kit. Out of every ABR I investigated online this unit was hands down the most precise and quality made unit I found.

A well made bit of kit. I have one on my 6.5mm SLR. Not legal for FTR or F-Open though, but OK for the NZ FPR class, which is why I bought mine.

I've run them on ELR Magnum RPRs for several years. They've held up well.

I transitioned from preloaded bipods and squeeze bags to a Phoenix bipod and hard bag when I was working on improving gun tracking. Tracking pays double dividends for ELR, precision and spotting.

I have the 2 smaller #14 Protektor bunny ear bags and bag stabilizer to cover the range of heights I need. I'm shooting on natural terrain that requires multiple setups.

Can't say enough about the ABR products! I own two of Dave's adjustable bag riders. I use them in F-class competition. At one time I owned a joystick rest, but the adjustments didn't feel precise. Now I use fixed rest (of my own making) and I am able to dial the butt stock elevation precisely on the ABR without breaking my position. This setup has allowed me to improve my scores. I have the V-shaped rider that fits into my Protector bunny-ear bags nicely.
