Greetings everyone,
Had a decent turn out of shooters this month, A little shy on F class shooters with the majority of the group being of the coat and sling type folks. Larry Sollers came up from GA and won the first day agg with a 585-19X. He started it off with a 200-11X to win the first match. The second match was won by the one and Only Matt Kubic with a 197-6X as the wind got harder and a lot trickier as the day wore on. Match Three was taken by Mike Carter with a whopper of a score. 192-4X Yes that is how rough it got. High wind with very fast pick ups and let offs along with some quick directional changes. Mike also placed second over all in the day 1 agg and Jim Sokolowski rounded out tird place just a couple X's ahead of Matt Kubic.
In F class Randy Graham put on a show sweeping all three matches and the Agg. Not sure how he shot that 196 on that last match as bad as the changers where, goes to show the skill level that Randy is at. Nice work sir. On day two we arrived at a very cool morning and some shooters elected not shoot both days. We shot just one relay. For the sling shooters, Curtis McNabb came down from Oak Ridge to join us, he shot a 193 to take Match one of the second day, Match two we see By God Tim Krier putting his Palma Rifle to good use to win with a 196-6X. Last match for the sling shooters Curtis ripped off the second of only two cleans shot all weekend. with a 200-11X claiming also the second day agg.
The F/O shooters shook off Randy and spread the wealth a little with Clint Roberts shooting a 197 followed by Darin Minnear on match two with a 199-9X's.. Oh Oh so close... good job Darin! Match three he spun that around and did it again with a 196. which gave him the second day agg.
For those who shot both days, Darin took the two day agg win. (Great work Darin.) He has been working real hard this year already and its showing.
Over on the Sling Side, Tim ( the Man) Krier was able to rise to the top to take the top two day agg. Tim Runs the Mid South Marksmen program here in TN and also the Henry County mid range matches. Next time you see him give him a big pat on the back. Thank you to Jim Sokoloski for doing the stats and for Tim helping do the paperwork.
Thank you to the shooters that came out and we will see you in June for our next match.
Russel
