Day One; 2019 Quigley Rifle Match...

That is a lot of shoulder punching and I can only imagine as I only have the wimpy by comparison 45-70. Bet that is a cool match.

the wind in Forsyth, MT, is a devil. Last time, I was shooting iron sights, with the MVA "Country Mile" tall vernier tang rear. It has 44 minutes of adjustment, left or right; from center. The first two days I had nearly 40MOA left dialed in. The next two days, it switched 180-degrees and I had 38 MOA dialed right. The last day of practice, I was about 2 MOA right. The Saturday and Sunday of the match, the wind swirled. I did NOT cover myself in glory.

The only good news: I did beat my brother by two targets. He wanted bonus points, he was shooting his 50-90; and I used my 40-65.

Quigley has got to be a fun shoot, whether shooting or spectating. I shot around a guy who had won it before, spotting for him at 300, watching the bullet from the rifle all the way to the target was something I'd never seen before, just cool.
