David Tubb doesn't get older -- he just gets better. Tubb gave all of us in the Boomer generation cause for celebration as he won his 7th long-range title, holding off a strong challenge by runner-up John Whidden, last years' long-range champ.

David Tubb Won the Long-Range National Championship today, shoting a perfect 45 for 45 inside the 10-Ring during today’s Individual Palma Trophy Match. Tubb’s impressive performance secured David the 2011 Long Range High Power Rifle Championship, edging out 2010 LR Champion John Whidden. We believe this is David’s seventh individual long-range title. Tubb last won the Long-Range Championship in 2004, when he shot an “perfect” 1450-101X Aggregate, not dropping a point. Tubb has also won the NRA High Power National Championship 11 times.

Congratulations David, your a inspiration to all competitors. I envy your abilities and accomplishments, best of luck in 2012.

I have been out of shooting for over 10 years and Tubb was the top of heap back then and this guy is still competing AND still winning top honors! Wow- now that is a shooter folks! Wish I could find my copy of his book that I read many many years ago!

Fantastic! Great to see someone in the sport with such talent and conviction to the art of LR shooting.

Any info on what caliber, optics, &equipment, etc that he used? WD

Don't know his age for sure, but I DO know he needs bifocals. I would say he's looking back on at least 45. Just goes to show what prep is all about. Physical as well as mental.

I spoke with Mr. Tubb on Saturday morning before the first 1000 yard match. Very pleasant guy and a real wealth of shooting information, not to mention one of the best rifle shooters to ever live. I would estimate him to be somewhere in the neighborhood of 55 years old.

Congratulations to all the shooters:
No one can deny that David Tubb is a great shooter. I am glad to see he has gotten past his knee problems.
Hope he and John Whidden can bang it out for many years to come.
