daughter's axis

My daughter was given an Axis hunt by her boyfriend for Christmas. Hunt was booked with Dustin McRae on Bob Brockman's ranch between Sonora and Del Rio. I went along as photographer and beer taster. Could not be happier with trip. Axis every where you look.

That is awesooommmmmme. Getting the ladies out in the field is wonderful.My daughter got her first tom turkey this year.I have never got one worth shooting within shooting distance and she nails one with a 8.5" beard and 1 3/4 spurs.I think she did wonderful.

It seems like most girls that hunt at an early age give it up during high school
then go back to it during or after college. At least that's my observation.
Rachel would go all the time now if she could.
We were spotting the deer on hillsides or across valleys then working our way in front of them and stalking back to head them off. Made several stalks before she got in range. Shot him prone off a back pack at 162 yds with suppressed 308.

Great picture! What a nice gift too. I taught my Daughter to hunt and fish...when she got married she had to teach her husband how to clean fish! I still get a kick out of that to this day... ;D Looks to me you can be proud of your Daughter for sure!
