Currently the match alternates between White City OR and the Sacramento Valley Shooting Center in CA. A few years back the match was held outside of Denver CO. Believe this was an attempt to draw more shooters from East of the Rockies.

Not sure if I am asking this the right way -

Is there a course of fire for this event ? Like how many targets per day / relay ? What method is used to get sighted in ?

Maybe a video of the range ?

Thanks Jerry

No video but here is the break down:

- The 600yd and 1000yd matches are separate events
- There is a practice day prior to each distance that shooters can use to get on paper
- Each distance has two dedicated days with a third day for a weather back up
- Shooters will get drawn for a relay. When your relay is up you will shoot all 6 targets
-- 3 LG targets (5 shots each for score) then 3 HG targets (10 shots each for score)
-- LG 1st target gets a 6 min sighter period for the 1st target then the next two targets get 3 minute sighter periods each. When done, time is given to switch to HG and the sighter period is the same as LG. Ten minutes is allotted for each target during score.
-- 45 rounds each day for score. Sighters will up the amount to 75+ rounds per day
- When not shooting you will be expected to be in the pits or assisting in other areas
- On the second day the relays will switch

Hope this helps.

Here is a webpage with a few photos of the Sacramento Range.

This is a video I took from my truck driving from the 1000 yard line to the pits. The quality is not very
good, but it will give an idea what the range looks like.

So, on day one Relay One would go to the line and stay there to shoot six targets and be done for the day instead of rotating each relay in turn on individual targets or pairs of targets throughout the day's conditions. Last relay gets the generally lesser conditions?

Youll get to switch the next day
