Dasher neck die.

Is there anyone besides Wilson that makes a dasher bushing style neck die?

I have a custom FL die made for my Dasher by Jerry Simonson. I size and clean my brass in big batches. If I want to tinker with neck tension on a new tube, I need to run the brass back through the FL die and re clean them. Big PITA!!

I checked Sinclair...the only list one neck die...a Wilson.

Thanks,
Tod

Go here & scroll down a bit, should be what your looking for:

Or you could prob have your existing FL die mod'd so you can use Redding bushings by Jim Carstensen. If you do a site search on Jim, you find the article on what he offers.. I have had him mod my dies, good work at a good price.

Nope...My Simondson FL die is a bushing die....And if I want to tinker with neck tension, I have to re size the brass with a different (smaller) bushing. While doing load development, I always size them with the biggest bushing feasable, and go smaller from there. Once I find a load for a bbl it is no problem, as I never need to change bushing sizes with that tube.

All I see on this page is a FL bushing die...I want a bushing style NECK die, like I have for EVERY other caliber I shoot, which is quite a few....I have both FL and neck dies....bushing stye!

Thanks again,
Tod

Sorry Tod, my bad... read too fast, my bad..... Did not see the "neck die" part...

That part of the world you should have a lathe and mill in your garage.. ;)

So whats wrong with wilson?

It looked to me like the wilson was not a 7/8 die, and therfore would not work with my Rock Chucker Press.... I am going on the picture that Sinclair had of the wilson die...I could be wrong.

Al,

I did not check Reddings website...I just assumed that if Redding made one, Sinclair would have it listed. Once more, I could be wrong...AGAIN!!! :-[ Are you saying that they do make one, or am I going to have to do more homework? You know, doing homework takes me away from load testing and shooting!!! ;)

Tod

Tod,

Do you have a neck die? If yes, send it to jim Carstensen for bush mod, bout 40$ bone.. If not, get the wilson and get an arbor press to seat the bullet. No, Wilson dont do 7/8's threaded dies..

Have you looked at what Forester offers? I dunno.

I would also contact Robert Whitley (6mmAR.com) and see if he has something you can work with. I think he has the corner on Redding dies for 6BR improved cartidges.. Or Sinclairs would offer em if Redding had em.. Again, dunno

Or by a lathe and make one for yourself and others. Ta heck with shooting and load development, just make shooting and loading accesories you wish you had....... ;D

Did you talk to Donovan for leads on this?

Oh Yeah, John Whidden is making dies now, I see if I cant find that thread for ya and give you the link? Heres the link to the thread, scroll down to reply #12: http://forum.accurateshooter.com/index.php?topic=3785650.0 Dont look that he makes the Neck bush die.......Yet. But his replies to thread show that he is open for custome work.... Bottom line, get yer azz on the phone to these guys.. ;)

Good luck budd! See ya on the 20th?

Well, I just did some homework....there's an hour of my life that I will never get back!!!

Redding....NO!!

Forester....NO!!

Wilson....not what I want....which is a 7/8 threaded die to fit my rockchucker press...so....NO!!

I suppose it will need to be a custom...=....time...and....$$$$

KRAP!! :'( >:(

Rod,

Yes He did when I ordered... I ordered a 6Dasher Redding neck die and a 6dasher Wilson seater die. He had both in stock and I received them in about 2 days! John is a good guy!
