Dasher at 1000 yards

Prone Rifle F/Class what Bullet have you used with good results?
I have used 105 HB !

108 Berger @ 28” Brux, 2900 fps. I could push it a bit more but it is so accurate, I don’t want to mess with it.

On a good (calm) day I can run with anyone, but in difficult twitchy winds, the 7mm’s have a leg up. Watched some the 7-6.5 PRCW’s recently, they were doing 1825 fps at the target at 1K, vs 1455 fps from my Dasher. IMO unless you’re the best wind reader, you’ll have a tough time dancing with them.

Good point. Sold my 7's and gave up 1000 yard for the most part ?
Have a Friend that I may never see again, wants me to come to 1000 yard match come Spring.

The Dasher will work and you can score. For the occasional 1K, sure, why not. I like the Palma matches 8, 9 and 1K, Dasher does great at 800 and pretty well at 900, only one match at 1K, I can live with that, the 300 and 600 yd matches are home runs for a Dasher.

 

[Mulligan]

The Berger 109's are another good option. Shoot well, not fussy.
Several of the local guys are shooting them out of dashers in that 2800-2900 velocity range.
