Daddy's Little Princess Strikes Again!

I'm one proud dad, once again! This bruiser stepped out this evening and my 9 year old dropped the hammer on him! This is her second buck and her first kill with the rifle I bought her for Christmas last year. The rifle that took this big boy down is a beatiful vintage Remington 660 in straight 6mm Rem, with a great little vari x 3X9 Leupold. The shot was a perfect one right through his neck and he didn't even take a step, he was dead where he stood! Here are a couple of pics I wanted to share with you guys.

Thanks, you guys are great! Thanks for all the kind words. Yep, Santa came early for me for sure and my daughter! And Doc, Bring on the crab cakes and chowder!!! Merry Christmas to all!

Absolutely 100% cool! I know how you are feeling Dad! My 11 year old got his first deer this season in his second year of hunting. A nice 5 point that he is still floating around and about on cloud 9! Thanks for sharing!!

bandit10-4,
Congrats!!! My daugther was 7 when she got her first deer with a 220swift at 80yrds. I have only got to hunt a few times this year due to overtime at work. My daughter is 8 now and got her 2nd doe while hunting with my uncle this year. All tho she hasn't got a buck yet, she seem to be more excited about the range she shot the doe at other than the actual kill. She made a 156yrd shot just behing the ear with the 220 swift and a 50gr blitz king! When she told me "I done just like you said DAD"! I shot her just behind the ear and she droped right where she was standing. This probably made me as proud as if it had been a huge buck! She is proving to me that she is a smart confident hunter! I showed her the pics of your daugthers buck and she read the story! She says she is going to hold out for horns from now on! ;D

Enjoy these years!! AS you probably all ready know time flies by and they grow up fast!! Great job! and give your daugther a big pat on the back from me! Job well done!! Awesome stuff! Thanks for sharing!! Stories like these stick with me more than my own experinces!

Awesome! That is a big buck! What a great dad for taking her out! That is my all time favorite caliber. In fact, the first deer I killed with a gun was a 600 mohawk in 6mm I borrowed from my uncle. I have been pestering him for 12-13 years to sell it to me. I have found another since, and it will be my son's first deer gun, now if I can just get him to walk first.... Tell your daughter she is a great shot and merry christmas!!!

VERY nicely done, young lady! My wife and daughters are huntresses and fly fisherwomen also. None of us have taken a deer THAT big, though!

That's awesome i. Can't wait for mine to get big enough. My 3 yr old girl already "shoots" a pink stocked cricket on my lap and my 20 month old boy wants to go "unting" with me when I throw on my camo. Hope they get and stay into it. Congrats.
