CZ Rimfires...need info.

I have three,3) CZ'z...two of them rimfires.
The 22 L.R. has a Brooks kit and it works very well.,don't need a Tiney....etc.) The other is a 453 17hmr with set trigger and fluted barrel. I like that a lot.
The 22Lr can beat the 17hmr at 50yds with Eley match, but the 17Hmr is better at 100 yards, and is always under 1 inch group at 100 yards. I don't shoot Varment, yet). but I think it would be nice for that; even though I have a Kevlar Varment at .223.
The Weakest part of the 17Hmr is the available amo,I have tried them all) even though most are made in one factory,C.C.I.), they are not the same in the rifle. Mine likes C.C.I. the best, but that is just my rifle :) We had a fellow at the club built a serious 17HMR in custom, but again the weak part was the amo.,Flyers) At 50 yards, he still got beat by the 22LR customs and Austrians with Eley.

A lot of good info in the above posts. I have several CZs, a Lux, American, 453 and a new to me BRNO #4. All shoot real well after making sure the barrel is floated. I started with a factory CZ dovetail to Weaver rail but have not been able to get any more, so I now make my own. I also tried some of the action screws offered but could not find anything that was not just plain fugly or at least a complete matching set, so I now make them and should have them in all my CZs by the end of next week.

Does anyone know if CZs have a threaded, bolted, or pinned barrel?

The silhouette model looks interesting but I wonder what the stock feels like.....a cheap piece of Tupperware or what??

Both ways, depends on model and caliber.

I hope it's not like the Sako Quad! I will be disappointed when mine arrives....

If it is like the quad where do I get the barrels. Got a cz452 training rifle with the 28.5" barrel shoots great. Man think is was interchangable 17HMR,22WMR,etc and drilling 1/2" groups at 50 yards. And beside the wood stock is just that a functionable wood stock.

Try the improved striker spring and action screws from jnpgunsprings.com. Good stuff. You cannot see the wood screws when you are shooting the rifle. Good strong screws made to last. The spring really turned around my rifles.

Jason here is what I call my poorman's BR rig on a CZ 452. I will mention B4 all the questions start coming it has not been shot lots so I cannot give you concrete proof of how it shoots. The little bit I have shot it with the Weaver 36 on top at 25 yards has made me smile. I have just had the scope for about a month and it is dang cold up here in Manitoba right now. When it warms up in the spring I will be able to give more details on how it shoots.

Compnents are as follows:

Benchmark 16.5 twist 6groove reverse taper finished at 26". It was not slugged at all just cut where the guys at Benchmark mentioned it should be.

Don Stith stock and his trigger guard.

BKL Scope rings

Trigger work by myself. A bit of this and a bit of that. I got the adjustable sear from Brownells and used one of the Eric Brooks springs in at well. Did lots of polishing to the factory parts with the dremel tool. I also modified the firing pin slightly so it hits the rim slightly inside the rim of the case. It runs around the 8-10 oz mark as it sits.

Polished the firing pin with the dremel and the cocking ramp to make it smoother. I also lapped the bolt and cocking handle to the action with JB. It is WAY SMOOTHER than factory. I made the larger bolt handle myself with a drill press and Dremel tool. I cut the factory off with a hacksaw and angle grinder and rough shaped with the benchgrinder. Threaded the stub and attached the new handle.

I made the aluminium butt plate with a hacksaw, table belt sander and the buffing wheel to polish it slightly.

That about sums it up. Dennis Sorensen one of the moderators from BR.com did the chambering and fitting of the action to the barrel as well as the fitting to the stock.

The only things missing are a Hoehn tuner for it and patiently waiting Butch's 2 oz trigger for it.

When the barrel is fouled and I do my part it will put 5 shots into almost a single hole at 25 yards. The only shooting has been without flags just to sight the scope in and see its potential. I am very happy with it at this point.

Here are a few pics of it completed.

Those pics were prior to the Weaver coming in.

Hi, i shoot too , in France, with my cz 452 varmint in 22 lr. A very accurate little carbine. The trigger is a little creepy so i change the original spring by a new one that i found in a pump of...liquid soap.It works great!
With good ammo (sk riflematch, lapua or eley) at 50 meters, you make a big hole.
For varminting small game, i recommand the Federal Game shock, very accurate!
1st target under : 7 rounds 100 meters.
2 nd target : 10 rounds 20 meters
