CZ rebarrel, anyone???

I am just curious if anyone here has rebarrled a CZ in the 453 or 452 rimfire. I have seen people do the Sako p94 but was wondering if someone did a CZ? If you have who did it and what was the cost to doing it. Was anything else done also besides replacing the barrel?

Thanks,
Dan

You should head over to Rimfire central. They have a very active CZ forum, and there are several rebarrel experiences to learn from.

If it's a fun project that you can tackle yourself, I'd say go for it. If you're looking to make a competitive bench gun, and you have to pay others for the work? I wouldn't ...CZ's are great but not worth sinking $500 dollars into for accuracy improvement.

Your $500 won't get as much improvement on a CZ platform as you will on a used Anschutz 54 action. CZ's are a great platform to build a silhouette gun on. Where the stock, trigger and shooter matter more than a new barrel.

except we gravitate to a Annie 54 at some point... ;D

^^^^^^ I wish i could afford 1 of those right now. I was just courios if someone may have done this. It for sure does not sound like a wise choice to do so. If you were wanting to change out the barrels to others the new 455 rifles would be the best and cheaper way to go. I would really like to get another rimfire that the barrel can be changed out. I had a Ruger about 7 years ago that i bought comeplete from Clark in 22 mag and then bought a 17hmr light weigth barrel from Volquartsen to change out. It had the laminate stock and was just purely awesome. For the life of me i just don't know what got into me and did some trading with it and let it go. :'( I thought about looking for or buying a new Ruger again but they went the opposite way and the barrels now are threaded onto the receiver. I just do not want something that i can not change out the barrels myself.

I'VE used 452 CZ action to build 22 benchgun with great results one w/ LILJA and my buddy's put a HART BARREL

Any good smith can do it no more than any other rebarrel job $500/$600 /
Just remember that the CZ 452 scout rifles are not threaded action I think I used 452 varmit action

452's have only used threaded actions and barrels for the last couple years. Most 452/3 are straight tenons. I believe all the CZ 455's are threaded (not to be confused with the early Brno 455 ZKM).

Again, I would encourage you to peruse Rimfirecentral, as they have several certified CZ gurus, including the guy responsible for bringing CZ's to market here in the US.
