CZ MTR review?

I refuse to dignify ppl who continually troll me, insult me and even call me a liar on the size groups I shoot with direct responses.

Center X is okay with mine and Eley Match (black box) is probably as good as the Midas+. Haven't tried Tenex but did use 1 box of Lapua X-Act. X-act is real good, but not worth the extra money to me.

Midas + was the only decent ammo I found... that was consistently good. X-act was definitely no better. I didnt get to the level of testing individual lots / speeds. I probably should have but went to a Lilja bbl instead.

Mounted the Vortex 4X24 and shot initially at 25 yds. I need to do a bit more adjusting of the inserts in the Burris rings to save my horizontal adjustments...............with extremely cheap Ammo it was capable of small one hole groups.................Today I’ll make some minor changes, move out to 50 & 100 yds with better ammo..........My guess at this early stage is that this combo is capable of better accuracy than I am. ............I am considering adding a tuner after finding ammunition that groups well.....if this rifle will produce some groups of 1 in. at 100 yds. I’ll consider it a success. Good shooting, all.

Got to the range today and shot at 100 & 50 yds. Cutting to the point, I just plain sucked ! I shot terribly and couldn’t maintain enough consistency to learn anything pertaining to the new rifle or the ammo being used.....the high point was shooting a fly that had landed on the 50 yd. target. As it stands currently, I may not get this to shoot MOA at 100.

Today I tried Geco long rifle that was around $18/ brick and a box of SK long rifle match that was quite a bit more pricey.

Mine shot Lapua Midas + the best. SK Rifle Match and Pistol Match were decent.

Rimfire is all about quality of the ammo used.

I laughed out loud at myself last evening..........After shooting the above mentioned fly, I felt a little better about my shooting abilities. A short bit later a ladybug landed on the same target. Unlike the stationary housefly, this ladybug was in constant crawling mode, changing random directions but maintaining an fairly even pace. I realized that; there I’d been; trying to determine which direction and just how much I had to lead that ladybug. I really need to find more important things to ponder but the thought did give me a good old chuckle.

Ha, I have experienced that too with my 22 MTR! Until I got it earlier this year I had not shot a 22 in probably 30 years, and it is an old 22 Win semi-auto. Since I am a decent shooter in Ftr I figured the 22 would be a piece of cake and it has kicked my butt most of the time, accentuating all of my inconsistencies which are "hidden" using the faster barrel time centerfires. I'm making progress as I determine issues and work on improvements. The rifle certainly shoots much better than my capabilities and is an excellent trainer.
