CZ 600 Alpha in .223 Caliber

Same here! I have a 527 and two 550s that I like a lot, but I have zero interest in a 600. My only regret is not buying more 527s and 550s while they were available.

At least you weren't a REAL dunce like me, who sold numerous 527 and 550 rifles off to fund training for a career change (that's been a rocky road, at best), thinking they were relatively inexpensive and could "just be replaced later." :)

At one time, I had two 527FS models in .223, a GORGEOUS 550 Satin Luxe in .308 with the most exquisite tiger striping I've ever seen, and a 550FS in .243, .308, 6.5x55 (two of these, actually), and one in 9.3x62. Yep, all sold because at the time they were so cheap and plentiful. Since then, prices have more than doubled on most of them. I still intend to have another FS in .223 and one in 6.5x55 some day, but they certainly won't be cheap to replace anymore. I'll never have another rifle as beautiful as that 550 Satin Luxe, though. Selling that is one of my greatest regrets of all time!

Anyway, you can still find them, you'll just have to be ready and willing to pay for them. They're out there, you just have to be committed to acquiring them, and be ready to pounce as soon as you see them (unless they're on GB, then you just have to be ready to sell a kidney to afford them haha)!

Struggling a little on why. Why we are allocating way more discussion about the older 527, model than on the newer model 600? After all, this is a CZ 600 thread right.

Best answer I have is we are a positive bunch. If we don't have much positive to say about the model 600 then we may deter to the fine, earlier 527 model that apparently, was no longer profitable to be in production.

Model 600 checks a box, perhaps two for me. Trouble is the 527 checked a lot more boxes in the positive column for me. Still waiting on some real progress & must admit my patience has been tried with the model 600.

Thankful to have acquired a few 527's, over the years. I too was sorry to see the 527 production ceased.

I coyote hunt with a cz600 trail and its does very well.24 grains varget and a 55 ballistic has done me well out to 350yd.

It’s my favorite rifle I own

I have a CZ 600 Alpha in .223. Surprisingly light considering it has a 24" Medium Heavy barrel. I have (once) shot 3/8" group at 200yds with PMC X-Tac Match ammo, 77gr Matchking. Shoots most any ammo 3/4" to inch at 100yds. Points well, nice trigger. CZ even says its rated for 5.56.

I recently purchased a 600 Lux in 223/5.56 as it was a killer deal, plus there was a $100 rebate up to Dec. 31. I have a 527 in 17 Hornet which I really love, and a 455 in 17 HMR, which is also a wonderful rifle. The action on the 600 is definitely different than the earlier rifles. The bolt on mine feels rough to cycle, hard lift, gritty when going forward. The trigger is nice, and the barrel interior looks excellent. Only have shot it a few round, as winter hit and ran out of time for testing. The Lux has a steel action. Accuracy, so far, looks promising. I'd much prefer the 527 over the 600 so far, but we'll see.

I heard same thing on the action and bolt and have not bought another cz since they went to the 600.
I have a 527 lux in 223 and bolt is smooth as glass and acccuracy is good as well.
My last cz I bought was a 204 Kevlar varmint that took a while to track down. It has since been upgraded with a pac nor barrel
