CZ 527 vs Annie 1740

Several threads lately about the CZ 527. I've never had one, but I have an Anschutz 1740 in 222 that I enjoy. And with prices of the 527 going up and up there isn't much price difference these days. Has anyone had both and can compare? Any other good quality small action rifles (hopefully sub $1000 used) you guys enjoy/recommend?

I own a couple CZ527, both customs. One was a 7.62x39 that became a 6PPC prairie dog rifle and the other was a 22 Hornet that became a 17 Ackley Hornet. I have enjoyed them both over the years and hope to until I can no longer enjoy anything. That said I would NOT pay today's asking prices for a 527. Instead, as @L.Sherm suggests, I would get the Howa Mini. Inexpensive and the ones I have had shot very well.

I just bought a new Howa Mini in 22 Arc to try out the action. The action seems to have better fit than a ruger American but the finish on the barrel is pretty thin. Tried to get the stupid Howa barrel sticker off and gun scrub took the finish off with the sticker…… hope it shoots.
