Cz 527 receiver

Hey folks I have a question. I know it is not exactly a bench rest gun but I was thinking of making something fun.
Would the CZ 527 (mini mauser) receiver be able to support a standard profile palma barrel perhaps cut down to 28" ? Or is the receiver too thin and not enough threads?

Would not consider it to much barrel hanging out of receiver threads are to short.

I have built multiple cz 527 rifles with a 1.06" diameter barrel that was 25" long. I have never encountered a problem and they are very accurate.

I, too, have target barrels on my 527. I do not normally bed the shank of a barrel just forward of the receiver face but I do on the CZ for the reason you commented on above. Shoots VERY well with a Douglas XX .223.
Go for it.

i have a spare 527 getting built into something this year...it will be bedded in a boyds stock, but i will be using the solid walnut variety instead of the laminate. I'm going with a rem varmint contour 24" barrel from pac-nor. have decided on the chamber for this one, either a 20/222 or another 222 (have a sporter weight barrel one that shoots excellently)
