cz 527 re-barrel question

I need to barrel up a cz 527.

This is the first one in the shop. What is the preferred method of setting up the barrel tenon, internal or external shoulder? Searched around and not to much information.

Does not look like you are getting much action on your post. I have one in just lately. I am going to do it like the Mausers I have worked on and try to get the internal as close as I can, but to shoulder on the external(or face of the receiver). As are most other bolt guns produced today.

I have done a slew of these, mostly in small caliber conversions based on 223 and Hornet cases. I got a trueing mandrel from PT&G to square the front of the action. I did the first several with a flat breach, but have done a coned breach on the last 3 or 4. They seem to feed the short, sharp shouldered cases better when done this way. Takes a little longer because of the extractor notch but seems to be worth it.

Would you be able to post some pictures and give some info as far as the dimensions of the thread tenon.. Made a call to Calhoon yesterday and received some insight which was very helpful, but more info is good.. Their approach to the extractor is to cut a counterbore, the dimension I was given for that was .775 dia. and .060 depth..
