CZ 457 trigger spring change

Hey guys, thinking about changing the trigger spring in my CZ 457 and was wanting to know, before I take it down, what size punch will I need to drive the pin out with? Just trying to have what I need on hand to finish up without having to search for tools during the swap. Thanks in advance!

I used a 1/8" punch. It's a really good idea to have a set of small diameter punches for these types of tasks. they can help with alignment and having the correct size punch helps keep from deforming the pin(s) you might be removing. And can be of help in aligning the parts up to re-assemble. Good luck in changing the spring out. It's not as easy as they lead you to believe. JME.WD

Cool! I've used those "no back out" pins in a few AR trigger replacements before but didn't know they had this for the CZ. Thanks for the heads up!
I believe they advise driving pin out from left to right. Right side is the "staked" side and is slightly larger. Look closely at both sides of the pin and you will see the difference. It still takes more than light taps to drive the pin out. Good luck!

Just an FYI, as I received my trigger pivot pin from Triggersbyscar, the pin diameter is actually 3mm(.118) , just .006" less than 1/8". So using an 1/8" pin could potentially damage the hole in the trigger housing. I would recommend using a 3/32(.094) diameter punch for this application. ;)

Just replaced the spring and have adjusted the trigger down to 10 oz for a trial run. Those McMaster springs I got were just a tad short and I had to ever so slightly stretch it a little to get tension on the trigger even. Is that par for these replacement springs from McMaster?

I’ve used a few of them and haven’t had that issue. Are you using the springs with part numbers ending in 611 or 612?

612 IIRC. I'll check when it gets daylight. If I recall they're both supposed to be 3/8" long? I could tell the spring I removed was longer for sure.

I have 611 springs on the way. That's what I copied from another site that's dedicated to rimfire.

Steve, when mine get here I can mail you a few if you'd like. I'll surely never use a dozen.

If Steve shoots with us on 3/11, I have plenty of 611's if he needs one.
