CZ 457 Scout - Show 'em off!

I think I've settled my mind of picking out my oldest son's first .22 - the CZ 457 Scout. It doesn't look like there's a ton of info on here about them yet. I'm curious what others here have used for stocks after their kids outgrew the factory Scout stock. If I do pick up a 457 Scout this summer, I'd also like to get a stock with a longer length of pull for when he outgrows the factory stock.

Anyone have before & after pics?

I bought one a few years ago after our second son was born. Was concerned about CZ canceling the model as they were restructuring their product lines and was worried it would go away (See CZ 600 and the ensuing recall fiasco, and canceling the 527)

It is actually a lot of fun to shoot, even for my 6'2" frame (open sights). The LOP shouldn't be an issue for a while. A KRG bravo and Shilen or Lilja will make it great as well. Trigger is good, but I'm no trigger connoisseur and a 3 lb pull is good for me.

I just need a 22 rimfire suppressor now.

Can't speak for the scouts, but we have a 457 Jaguar and it's pretty sweet. Loves cci stinger ammo. If you get the itch to tweak on it, there a lot of adjustment in the factory trigger. Ours is currently sitting around 14-16oz on the factory trigger safely. And then there's springs and such available that'll get em down to 6-8oz on the factory housing pretty easily. Seem to be great training guns!

I don't have a place to buy match ammo except online. Do the CZ 457s shoot plain Jane factory ammo (Winchester 555, Remington Thunderbolt(?), etc.) accurately enough? Say, 1-3" at 100 yards?

Can't speak for 100yd but at 50yd ours like the cc stingers. .2-.3 5 shot

Mine likes Norma Tac-22 really well!
mine is picky about the lots on Norma Tac. Buddy of mine traded me a box for some SK and the Norma shot as well as Lapua Midas +, it made 10 shot bugholes. I thought I had found a cheap date so When I got home I ordered two bricks and 4 of 5 will go into same hole and the 5th will be a inch and a half off from the main group. Gave it to the wife for her Buckmarks

Mine shoots Norma TAC ok. Likes Eley Black better tho. Here it is at our shoot this past Saturday.IMG_20220528_182041179~2.jpg
