CZ 457 MTR or Tikka T1X MTR?

As the title reads, considering both of these.

Edit to add -22lr.

Kind of a poll to see if there is a clear favorite. This won't be for any competition/meets, just my own plinking on the range.

Thanks for looking.

in ARA factory class the two rifles that dominate are CZ MTR and Bergara
Tika is a fine rifle but if it was better there would be more of them in competition.
For the woods an MTR would be the wrong choice and the Tika would be the one but on the bench at the range maybe not
I like it for an all around quality 22 and they can shoot really really good with good ammo

The CZ 457 is like the AR15 of the 22lr world.
They make a lot of aftermarket parts for it.
That said, the Tikka is a good shooter.
Would price or availability change your mind?
Don't own a Tikka, but I don't find any fault in my CZ 457
It comes down to finding what ammo it likes.
Depends on how much precision you are looking for.

That's interesting, as it has been reported that both Lapua centers have claimed the Tx1 have been the most accurate factory rifles they have tested.
The reason I think for the popularity of the Bergara's are weight and the ease of getting a really good trigger. heaviest Tikka is the Ace at 8.2 lbs. but not legal for ARA factory class. MTR and UPR are all under 7lbs.

Tikka just put out another rifle that bears looking at...

TX1-UPR

I am thinking of getting one to fool around with. I just got a factory trigger, and I am looking to see what I can do with it to make it lighter. a simple spring change has it down to under a 12-oz.

Again, it's not for competition. The CZ 457 MTR has a stock profile I'm not familiar with and is somewhat more expensive. It would chap my backside to pay more, then decide the stock doesn't fit me well.
Then again, the Tikka T1X MTR looks to have the most bare-bones stock profile as is common on the more inexpensive, mass production rifles by multiple manufacturers. And they are just functional, not a great fit. So, I might decide a stock upgrade is needed there, too. But the initial outlay is less.

Unless I got a 'bad draw', I doubt that I'd find much, if any, difference in accuracy between the 2, but one never knows what they'll get.

This is why I'm 'on the fence' between the 2. It's basically the stocks, but the discussion on triggers has me rethinking things a bit.

What some will do is find a used or go with a cheaper CZ 457
just for the action then place it into a chassis.
The MDT Oryx or KRG Bravo are just a couple and might fit you better.
Or just purchase the "varmint" has a traditional stock. Shoots pretty good
for less money than the MTR
As for triggers, the JARD and Timney are a slip in or replace the factory spring for a lower
trigger pull.
You can spend as little or as much as you want.
Ammo WILL make a difference in any 22lr.
