I talk to them they are just building new guns now. Won’t do work on any.

Go over to Rimfire Central. Lot's of info there and even a dedicated CZ forum. I think think the consensus there is a Lilja prefit and shims to adjust head space unless you are competing at a high level.

What Merlin said. Plus I would think a good gunsmith fitted barrel would be as good or better then a prefit

Yes it is modular, and a great rifle. There are not that many barrel options out there though.
