CZ 455 trigger replacement

What's the top option for replacing a trigger with something better on a CZ 455? Timney?

I tri d the yodave kit and shortly after ordered the rifle basix kit. Just did the install yesterday and can get consistent pulls at 12oz which will do me well. Feels great with no creep.

It not my 2oz 2stage on my anschutz or my bixnandy but it is pretty damn fine. And only 99 from brownells

Also no stock modification like with the timney

I used the YoDave kit and ended up with a real sweet 12.5oz trigger in my 455; glad I didn't spend the money on a more expensive solution before I tried the YoDave approach.

I've tried most all the options on 455 triggers and the YoDave kit seems to be the best. The trigger will end up being somewhere right around 12 ozs once it's set up to be safe against accidental discharge and it's got no creep or over travel. You can't get the others this light safely and the cost is to good to pass up. It's the way to go. Then drop in a Lilja Varmint contour barrel and your set. It's a lighter barrel that fits in the standard stock and gives the rifle proper balance unless you have a Heavy barrel 455 to begin with, then you go for the .920" model. Then have the stock pillars bedded by djdilliodon and you will have a rifle that shoots with the 54 actioned Anschutz models. 1/4" 5 shot groups at 50 yards with cheap federal AE22 high velocity ammo.

these are the groups shot with Wolf target before I had the rifle bedded.

this pic is from my 452 UL but the sear is the same design,,instead of shims it puts a set screw in the sear to set the creep and with the right spring I can get to around 7 ounces and be safe off a bench,,I wouldnt want it that light in the woods,,

and a little trick to keep the ball in the sear while reassembling ,,push the ball and spring back in the sear and put the clip through the holes to hold them in

I happened across a John Langely 1.5 ounce trigger for my Brno 4 that will also fit the CZ 452 and a Jewell BR trigger has nothing on it,,

I purchased the yodave and spent a couple hours trying to get it to go low and also not have any issues with the sear, I couldn't get "mine at least" to not fire when bumped so I decided to get the rifle basix and was able to get the 12oz and no issues misfiring. Every rifle has its own issues I guess.

Either way I like the feel of it. I just need to get it on the range and really see how it performs.

I bought the adjustable sear from DIP. Maybe I am not the most mechanically minded around but it took me a @#*% week to get the thing installed. #I HATE THAT BALL BEARING

I bought a CZ 455 4 years ago. Drove the middle pin out and replaced it with a roll pin. Made a .112" sleeve to go over the roll pin. Went to hardware store and bought a lighter weight coil spring and cut it to the right lenght. This lowered the pull to 4 oz., with no creep. Then drilled and tapped the trigger guard. Took a .250 x 28tpi screw and drilled and tapped it internally #4-40tpi. Then turned .250 x 28tpi screw head to be rounded and cut the screw so it just passed through the trigger guard. Then use a #4-40 set screw to act as a trigger over travel stop. Whole trigger job cost less than $2.00.

I could never get the CZ trigger to function correctly/safely below 7 ounces,,,,the trigger is also the boltstop and below 7 ounces a lot of times the bolt will come out in your hand when cycling ,,and all the other stuff that comes with too light settings,,slam fires and such,,

the DIP sear and Rifle Basix trigger work to adjust creep with a screw and you can get a much finer adjustment than with the shims and tubes,,sometimes the shims and tubes will hit just right but sometimes one tube will be too much and the next size isn't enough,,

I have also stoned the notch that catches the sear on the factory trigger until it breaks like glass with no creep but it takes a lot of trial and error to get just right,,
I have done a bunch of CZ triggers and you can make them really good but I don't believe you can safely make them into 2 ounce triggers.

Any 455 users put a RB trigger in and end up with the spring no where near the seat?

Yes you have to call them and they will send you a stem that fits in it and goes in the hole where the factory one did. I had mine in less than a week. now all is well. Did you order your kit from brownells, I think they are older stock before they started putting this in it.

I did get it from Brownells and I also have the pin you mentioned but it really distorts the spring getting it in place. Would it be a problem to leave it where it rests now?

Yes do not leave it that way. can you post a pic of the pin, just to make sure it is the right one. It should fit in the end of the spring and recess in the action, like the factory spring was setup.
