CZ 455 Precision Trainer

I sent Yo Dave an email. Maybe get an explanation why there is an extra 10 bucks dded to the price.

On a different note, I backed my action screws down to 20 inch pounds and accuracy improved. The rifle shot really well with SK standard, not so well with CCI SV. I was hoping it might be the other way around as I have two bricks of the CCI. But my T1X shoots the CCI pretty good IIRC.
I've had random success with CCI SV. One group will look good and then the next group will have a flyer or two. It's made me stop trusting it.

No reply from Yo Dave. Maybe they are just slow answering emails. I may look into the Rifle Basix trigger. Always had good luck with them in the past.

Take your trigger spring to a hardware store and find a lighter spring the correct demensions or go to Fastenal and get an A-159 or A-160 spring. One of these should give an 8-16 ounce trigger on a 452-55.

I already changed out the spring and have a decent trigger now. But it didn't get rid of the take-up/creep. Its not terrible but annoying but after a few shots you kinda get use to it.

On a different note. I went into a small pawn shop that use to be a CZ dealer (but no longer are). They use to have barrels in stock for the CZ's. I ask if any were still available and he had one. It was a varmint minikit in 17 HMR. You might know it was pretty much what I was looking for. Not exactly sure why but seemed like a good idea at the time. LOL!!

I ordered the Yo Dave trigger kit today. I'll just have to wait and see what the final price ends up being. Even at $37 its a pretty cheap fix. I can't help but wonder how much better the match barrel shoots as to the barrel that came on my 455. Just me being me, I've already been considering a custom barrel. I read a post or two that folks said the customs didn't really shoot that much better to merit the cost. I think finding the right ammo is probably the most important part even with a custom barrel.

A lot of 455 owners like to buy a stronger firing pin spring for more consistent ignition. I just put a small spacer inside the bolt to compress the spring a bit more and it works quite well. The spacer that I used was nothing more than a large rifle primer cup. Take a spent primer, pick out the anvil and clean out the residue inside the cup. Just like that you have a perfect spacer for the spring. I also re-shaped the firing pin slightly using a stone (made it more straight/parallel and a bit thinner). Now I'm getting very firm and consistent strikes.

I backed my screws off to 25 inch pounds today but can't make it to the club till later in the week. I will take my torque wrench with me when I go so I can play with the action screws and maybe find the sweet spot.

On a side note, I looked at the Yo Dave trigger kits. I don't seem to understand the different "shims" that come with the kit Can someone explain it a little to me?
Tork wrench, not "take the allen wrench and play with action screws"! LOL! Spinning yourself in circles and you will never know what you did even IF you get it to shoot, you wont be able to duplicate later if you need to take the rifle down. Spend the few bucks and get a tork wrench...$35-$75...Wheeler, Knine, Real Avid Outdoors and on and on. I know this is older post but hopefully you see this and invest!

And Timney makes a great trigger for the 455...
