I've been wanting one of these since they first came available and just couldn't pony up the money for one...until today. I was just leaving a gun show and a guy had one on his table. Claims he bought out an estate sale and this one was part of it. In the box, unfired all though it isn't the correct box but I don't really care. The deal was just to good to worry about the correct box. Its the 20" barrel with the camo Manners stock. Just curious, what are they selling for on todays market. I can't find one for sale to compare but I got mine what I consider cheap. I just stuck an older Bushnell scope on it for now as I need some taller rings or a rail and I have a nice Leupold that will go on it later.

Well the Bushnell was crap so I put a straight 16 power Leupold on it for now. Can't wait to take it out and puts some rounds down it. Maybe a little friendly competition between it and my Tikka T1x.

Got a lesson in CZ's today. I bought a Mountain Tech scope base but it was for a 457 not the 455. Fit like a glove but won't let my bolt open. Unless I install it backwards. Its a 15 MOA rail so installing in reverse just won't work and it looks funny too. Seems the 457 has a shorter bolt lift than the 455.

I returned the scope base and hopefully have the correct one coming in a few days. I cheaped out and bought a Cabalas Covenant 5 scope. Its 5-25x56 FFP. Wasn't my first choice but my gun money is all but gone. Seems between a new Browning Citori CXS and new tires for the Toyota last month, then this rifle I'm broke. LOL! But I got two nice guns and tires to get me through hunting season I'm good to go.

I have the original Covenant on a 22 and it does everything well but sometimes it takes a few shots to settle in.

I have a Covenant 5 on a 223 and is really a nice scope for the money. No issues with dialing and the reticle is pretty accurate.

I bought a spring with less tension today and cut it the same lenght as the original trigger spring. It still has a tad bit of creep but breaks around a pound. Much better than the 3 pounds it was at. I haven't figured out how to remove the creep yet but the spring was only $1.19. Pretty cheap fix.

Get a Yo Dave shim/spring kit and you can get all the creep out of it. I have a 455 set up with this kit and it's perfect. Right now it's outshooting both of my 457s.

Here's the link.......

My 455 with 20" Varmint barrel (NOT match chamber) from CZ. The original setup was a used 457 American with pencil barrel in the walnut stock. This one is outshooting both of my 457s right now with SK Long Range Match.

I'll be pillar bedding this 457 AT-ONE 16.5" soon with hopes of getting all out of it that I can. This is on my personal range shooting 50 yards.

I got to shoot mine a little today. Results were hit and miss. I had several good groups and a few not so good. I torqued the action screws to 30 inch pounds but think I may back off them a little next time out. I had a few crazy flyers and not sure why just yet. May just need a few more rounds through it before it settles down.
