CZ 455 17 HRM

My new CZ 455 17 HMR is shooting great. First time out all the 17 gr. bullet shot ok, but the 20gr. CCI Gamepoints shot great with 2 groups running less than 0.2" at 50yds. Second time out everything was shooting sub 0.4", the 20gr Gamepoints are running 0.250" at 50yds. I changed the scope to a Weaver 24V and got to shoot at 100yds. The group 9 o'clock off the bolt is the 20gr Gamepoints. The one below is the A17, both running 0.5" at 100 yds.

Thanks for the report, I love the CZ's, I know there no annie, but who cares, with performance and quality they display, I believe there by far the best bang for your buck, nice job.

i use mine all the time. Mine is the LUX.. Hornaday 17 grainers is what I keep coming back to. No paper shot but live p-dawgs for grouping.

I'm glad your first outing went well. Mine couldn't have gone worse. New CZ 455 Varmint in 17 HMR. Just mounted the scope and wind was no impact. At 100m it was shooting "patterns" not groups. Making my Anschutz 1717D HB look golden. Here is the target.

Oh wow! Something isn’t right there. I can easily cover most of my 100 yard five shot groups with a quarter. What ammo were you shooting? My 455 American likes Hornady 17 gr. I tried some CCI 20 Gr and some Winchester ammo and found no love.

The top group is CCI 20gr. Gamepoints. The lower group it CCI A17. Mine likes the 20 gr. and the A17.

If the rifle doesn't have pillars and bedded I would spend money there first. Also check the two mounting screws for the action. If it's not bedded, too tight or not tight enough will effect accuracy.

I have had a 455 for many years.. I put a 17 HMR barrel when 22 mag ammo disappeared. I have been using 17 Gr Hornaday. Today I bought a box of CCi 20gr to try after reading this. I got dime size groups off a bi-pod. I tested my Hornadays and they were all over the place. Now I gotta figure out what to do with all that ammo I bought.

Try the Hornaday 20gr XTP, they are the same bullet as the CCI Gamepoint, both shoot the same in my gun.
