Cutting Edge Bullets

I would like to know if any one has had any experience with these bullets both on accuracy and performance on game. They are pretty spendy. Naturally they look good on their web site but I haven't heard of any one using them any info would be great. Thank, RW

Which specific bullet are you looking at? I've used a few of the 338 versions with mixed results in various guns. The problems I've had appear to be caused by bullets becoming unstable and never making it to the target. The best explanation I've come up with is that the short bearing surface isn't engaging the rifling enough to actually get the bullet RPMs high enough to stabilize it. I have seen them work much more consistently in a gain twist barrel though. I just think of the short bearing surface slipping in the rifling kind of like a bad clutch. With a gain twist barrel, the bullets get a slower acceleration to full RPMs so they don't "slip" in the rifling, helping them reach the necessary stability.

If you're looking to play with the solids, check out the Flat Line and Hammer Hunter Bullets. I have some of the Flat Line bullets to try and I e done some very early testing with the Hammer bullets. Both use annular groves almost like a Barnes bullet instead of a driving band like the Cutting edge bullets do.

I was looking at the ESP Raptor/safari and the copper Raptor and the Lazer, Has any one tried the brass bullets? I have never known any one who has tried a brass bullet and don't know what to expect as far as fouling and cleaning and barrel wear. But I just thought that some one would have tried Cutting Edge bullets and could give a review or share thier experience with them, Thanks RW

Shot some of the brass bullets. What are you looking at them for?

I took care to thoroughly clean the barrel before and after.

The brass bullets are unique.

I am interested in accurate hunting bullets and may bee some long range bullets for a 375, I like their concept which is similar to Bergers that they are supposed to have good terminal performance! I have never heard of brass bullets and what it would do to a barrel as far as fouling and what you would use to clean them most all solvents address copper. I like the fact that some of their bullets nose fragment whill the core stays intact.
If some one could possibly recommend a forum where some one has had some experience with them. Thank You RW
