Makes absolutely no difference at all! Especially since the OP is planning on using hand tools to crown with. Like I agreed with DocEd, a waste of band width...........

Maybe he puts his rifles away without wiping a little oil on them or maybe he really doesn't know.

only reason I asked is because I hunt in snow and while its snowing sometimes. its always possible for it to get wet in the field and thus causing surface rust on the crown correct? and in order to fix it would be some 1000 grit sand paper or 0000 steel wool...
