Very simple. I took a silver Sharpie and made a thick silver line against the turrent at my zero. Prevents coming down a revolution too far.An old subject I gather but my search turned up zeroDoes anyone make zero stops? Or have a good DYI plan. I have a Sightron SIII 8-32.
Thanks for any help
Never would have thought of that ... brilliant and the KISS methods always seem to make things workVery simple. I took a silver Sharpie and made a thick silver line against the turrent at my zero. Prevents coming down a revolution too far.
Well just tried the two different thicknesses of washers my colleague made up for me and all I know at this stage is they fit perfectly and I can screw the turret caps back on with them in place. Final proof of what height they need to be will be worked out at the range with a little piece of sandpaper to get it as close as I can. Really as long as I am within one revolution of the 300yd setting I'll be good to go.Hi
Just in the process of getting some turned up by a friend out of nylon or something similar to these specs: I.D 23.6mm, O.D. between 25.6mm & 26.6mm Height 4mm. This should give me either a 300 yd or 600yd zero ( can't remember). i'll get a couple so I can play around to get final sizings.
This if for my Sightron 10 x 50. Up till now I'v been using an O-Ring that gets me close to zero but I have to take it off each put-away time to put the turret covers back on.
I did find some off-the-shelf washers that were pretty close to this but not exact.
