andhow do you specify when ordering ? to the thou? Does it work so well that you could not use the 35deg insert on a boring bar for the same purpose? Do they come in sets?

If you want to order one from Dave, just tell him what you objective is to cut a flat bottom hole and he will be able to give you exactly what you want. He is a very accommodating guy.
Using an insert on a mini boring bar could also et the job done, but for small standard size holes, the reamer just makes a quicker job And will assure a sharp corner on the bottom of the hole especially if you plan on wildcatting down the road. Which ever way you choose, I'm sure will yield a great result since Redding bushings do have radius cut edges. For me, the key is the love of the job since I choose not to do this for a living.

Sure, if it is easy and convenient for you I'd like to see one. Don't go to a lot of trouble though as I will probably stick to the mini BB. I also prefer to do it as a hobby but prolly would work better under pressure (time of delivery)

Here it is. Ian, if you are in England, when I did a search for this type of reamer, ironically enough, the only company I found was in GB.

Even though it resembles an end mill, the flutes do not cut.
