Custom Expander Die for Progressive Press Reloading

Most Progressive Presses us an expander in their powder measure. This is a modification the powder measures were not originally engineered for and lead to wearing out the powder measure. This can be remedied by adding a Lee universal Flaring die body, with a custom NOE Expander plug. They are made like a Lyman M die in most all calibers. These work well in both pistol and rifle calibers. It can be further customized with the Lee Micrometer screw. This die modification works well with progressive presses with bullet dropper loading situations.

I use Lee flaring dies with custom M-type plugs I make for each caliber I load on 1050 and 650 Dillons including 20's.

On each machine they are located between the powder drop and the bullet drop.

I like the location over the 1050 flare/swage location since the plug compacts the powder if it is relatively high in the neck reducing /eliminating powder spillage.

I have loaded in excess of 5,000,000 rounds of both pistol and rifle ammo on autodrive 1050s. Have loaded more than 10,000,000 rounds on Camdex or Ammoload machines. These load totals don't incude the 100s of thousand bullets that Ihave loaded on Dillon 450s, 550s, and RCBS Rockchucker presses. My post were not for the 4 and 5 station progressive loaders. The dies I described are for the autodrive loaders who load cast bullets and can be incorporated to singe stage press loading. I can see we still have posters who can't read or just want to lash out at others. My parents tought me if you don't have something positive to say keep your mouth closed. Paul or his moderators may remove this post. It is not ment to be inflamatory. My post were to provide a solution to a problem someloaders may encounter. Paul's own site rules promote positive thinking. I probably have more loading, gunsmihing, and shooting experience than 98 percent of the site users. I have held my toungue many times. I have frequented this site much less over the last few years. Back in the day Wilbur over at Benchrest central would not put up with negative or rude behavior on his site. Len over at Longrange Hunting doesn't put up with negative and/or rude posting. I now know that I will get an email from Paul and this post will be pulled. I guess what I have to say doesn't matter. I'll follow my own advice and quit posting (keeping my mouth shut).

@Rustystud

Are you replying to my post #2?

If so I certainly don't understand your reaction, since I was agreeing with your use of the Lee flaring dies noting my use of them with custom plugs.

I Apologize if I responded negative to the wrong poster. I am seeing the replys on my cell phone and not my computer. I am not usually negative, all posters have an independent responce right. The poster I was trying to respond to obviously did not read and comprehend my original post.
