Custom ammo boxes

Id like one in a size thatll hold a 6.5x47/308 size case but the insert short enough that i could grab a br size case out. Dont care if the cases will come up too far or have excess “headspace” i never turn my boxes upside down or ill put another layer of foam in there for br length

To answer some questions/concerns.

The idea is to have different thickness foams available to be inserted into the cover. I am also playing with the idea of buying foam that I can machine and secure to the roof of the lid. This would keep it from coming out and would allow the shooter to customize the particular thickness of the foam. Down the road type stuff. I don't want to get too deep into materials or processes until I know you guys actually want them.

Max coal on these boxes is 3.25 right now.

I can make them taller if necessary.

You could keep your ammo in your usual box then transfer into the smaller box to take to the line.

I'll work on the design, just keep in mind that they'll be expensive. It'll be carved out of roughly 40lbs of raw aluminum.

Here is a 70's style bench rest ammo container. I have lots of plastic but these are my favorite. Counter top material drilled with an old reamer.

Carved? I see. I understood you'd be using aluminum, but in for some reason in the backof my mind I had been thinking plates and TIG welding. I agree with you that perhaps this is not the best idea for boxes that large (100 rounds).
