Now, I just Buy Tikka T-3's and SAVE, the Money !
They have Sako Barrels, SMOOTH, LOW Bolt lift, Feed perfectly, Great Triggers (Yo Dave Springs avail ) and shoot Awesome, depending on Caliber.
My .243 T-3 shoots in the .2's and 3's with, good 87 gr reloads and I spend the rest, on good Scopes and the Grand Kids !

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought they and all Mauser variants have a flat bolt face with an exposed edge that strips round out of the magazine. Like this:

The lugs may have a taper on the leading edge, but that's not quite the same thing as a coned bolt for 700 style action.

The bolt is coned but the face of the bolt that picks up the round is flat, the barrel is coned completely..... A pic. of the Mauser is flat, the pre 64 mod. 70 is a work of art the best of both worlds. you can throw them in single shot like a cone bolt bench gun.... and feed out of a mag. is the best of the best.... I had one in match rifle, it was owned by R.K.Nelson that started Reade Range in 1962. I had the barrel set back to .308 and with my Lake City match Ammo and 2" programer scope. It shot 20 shots in 3/4" prone at 300 yds so those old guns would shoot that was in the early 70's .... jim
