Custom action for a deer rifle

What custom actions are a good value? I saw the features of a bighorn, savage barrel threads, rem footprint, changable bolt head. Sounds great, I like all the features, but not sure what else I should be looking at. I dont have never seen any of them in person. Looking at possibly building a 270win repeater with med contour barrel amd i want as many options for stocks and barrels as possible.

Borden Alpine Stiller Bat, You get the idea. Tommy Mc

I have a Bighorn TL3 action. It is smooth and It has a lot of great features especially the controlled round feed. It will feed and eject just about anything.
The only drawbacks to it are 1) using a Triggertech trigger (great trigger) I was only able to get 0.175 in. Firing pin fall. Normally a Remington style action requires 0.240 pin fall. I didn't get misfires but I don't think that is the best thing for top notch accuracy. 2) It doesn't use a trigger hanger so their is no easy way to make adjustments to increase pin fall / or reduce cock on close. I don't think either of these make issues make too much difference for a hunting rifle.
My other custom Remington clone action is a Kelbly Atlas. The Atlas is less expensive than the TL3 (about the same as the Bighorn Origin) it is just as smooth and it comes with a trigger hanger. If you install your trigger and it doesn't have adequate firing pin fall (.240 required for top accuracy) or you have too much cock on close you can contact Kelbys and they will set you up with the proper trigger hanger to correct the problem. It's hard to beat Kelbly's service. Also Kelbly's can chamber a barrel for it without having your action. My Atlas isn't a repeater so I can't comment on feeding from a magazine but it has a mechanical ejector that works just fine.

My choice would be a Defiance Rebel.

I'm quite a fan of Big Horn TL3 actions. I have two of them, no problems so far. Controlled-round feed, mechanical ejector, floating bolt head, shouldered pre-fits, etc. What's not to love? I haven't measured firing pin protrusion, but no problems from my Trigger Tech Diamonds.

W. Hambly-Clark Jr. in his book "Centrefire Rifle Accuracy" shows a custom Mexican Mauser /Douglas barreled rifle he built in 7X57 that would be a dream come true. Apparently he intends to be buried with it though. Custom is defined in many ways.

The kelbly atlas tactical is hard to argue with. Of all my custom actions, this one for the money blows me away even when comparing to much higher priced actions. In Canada I paid 1000 dollars more for some top tier actions when the kelbly feels equal or better to some top tier.
