Sounds like a nice rifle. Have your read Jim Borden's thoughts on the Lapua case head verses the Remington bolt?

I would spend the money on an action designed for the lapua case head. I think the old adage of a good 300 hp motor makes for a not so great 500 hp motor applies here. Just my opinion.

This gentleman is telling you about what he has already had built (or has built). The debate on Rem 700-based 338 LMs is (IMHO) dealing with when-using-the-stock-Rem-700 bolt. Note that the build list here includes the PTG bolt. Have that debate with Dave Kiff.

Ok sorry, glad to hear he used a pt&g bolt. Does pt&g offer anything to.address the thread tenon issue?
