Current IBS 600 SOY Points

I just saw the current 2019 IBS 600 Yard SOY point calculation done on Sept 25th. Bart Sauter appears to be running away with it right now with 240 points which is 75 points in front of 2nd place! Way to go Bart! There has been a little learning curve, but you have definitely worked hard at long range shooting and worked hard made some of the best LR bullets along the way! I commend you for your efforts! Sincerely, Samuel Hall

Very kind of kind of you Sam! Its been a great year! I’ve had a lot of fun figuring out how to compete and make LR guns shoot! The best part about shooting long range is getting to meet the great folks that shoot it, such as yourself!

Thanks again!

Kind of funny that I mentioned Barts' name to a newer shooter at a practice Thursday. This guy has the fanciest, most expensive equipment any shooter would want. I asked him why he did not show up at last weeks' steel shoot. In fact, never ever saw him at any shoot.

He told me he was afraid of the wind.

My comments were related to the wind blowing on all of us and that I sucked in the wind as did so many others. After more discussion he related he has never shot a match and did not think he could win.

Now I am "set off" and no longer tactful. "You think you are gonna beat Bart Sauter on your first try"? Told him the rest of us are cannon fodder to the great shooters like Bart. We don't quit but gain from each experience getting beat. Plus, we had the fun of participating in the experience. What did you learn and how much fun was it missing our shoot?

We need Bart around and winning as an inspiration. Same can be said for all the other top shooters around the world. Without them as a benchmark we would not learn as much and not put our results in perspective. Don't be discouraged by great shooters. Be inspired. The alternative just might be watching TV or sitting in a chair at the entrance of the nursing home hoping someone will smile at you when they walk by.

Yeah to all you great shooters!
