Current Experience With Savage 12 LRP In 6.5 Creedmoor?

Looking for more current experience. 2016 is about the most current I`ve found. Possibly interested in this gun for a 1K range rifle. Thanks in advance for any help.

Great guns. My second rifle in F Class was that very rifle. Bought it used at a LGS with an unknown round count on it. I put about 3500 rounds through it before the groups really started to open up and it was no longer competitive. That barrel was fire cracked about a third of the way up. Screwed a Criterion barrel from Northland Shooters on to the action and it was right back shooting 1/4 to 1/2 MOA using the same load. I shot it at both mid range (600 yard) and long range (1000 yard) F Class. I did well with it and learned a lot about long range shooting in the process. The Savage 12 LRP will serve you well. Install an Anschutz rail section on the bottom of the forestock to mount a 3 inch wide bag rider or F Class bipod and go give'em hell.

My first 600 yd gun was a used Savage 12 F/V, in 6.5 CM.

After load testing I was getting 6" groups at 600 yds (even a 3.75 one time).

After shooting out the barrel I replace the barrel with a Wilson small shank pre-fit. At that time they were under $200.00. When they raised there prices and I needed a barrel I replaced with a 28" Brux. That was 3 years ago and the Brux is Still giving me 6" groups at 1000 yds

I did replace the trigger with a Timmy and set it at 1.5". Since that build I have model 12 with a 6mm CM and just bought another used model 12 for F class factory.

You will get good results with that savage.
