cryo-treatment for barrels

I had my Winchester Stealth barreled action cryogenic at CryoPlus Inc. Cleaning was noticeably easier, but I couldn't tell if it shot better, there were problems with the factory rifling.

I haven't heard any thing about this for a while. just wondering if there are any opinions out there.

This is a topic that should have been left in the storage space. If you want opinions, use the search function on any shooting forum, and read the thousands of opinions. I haven't heard anything about Lindsay Lohan for a while. Any opinions out there?

HateNaler,

Is that a fact?

Dan06,
CRYO does not stress relieve.

Buth,

I am learning things I have never learned otherwise.. I might have left school too long ago.......

Effectivley this is not a stress relieving treatment

I genuinely thought cryo was inteended after heat treatment to reduce residual austenite into martensite?.

Does it changes otherwise very much the characteristics of an already martensitic unhardened steel (416)?

Martensite being harder than ferrite and even austenite, is really machineability improved???

Machinability has been noticeably better on the ones that I have machined. So far I have seen no improvement in accuracy or easier cleaning.
